SeaDream Yacht Club

SeaDream Yacht Club was founded in 2001 by Norwegian entrepreneur Atle Brynestad, who had earlier founded Seabourn Cruise Line. He bought the two former Sea Goddess ships he knew from his Seabourn years, rebuilt them, and relaunched them as SeaDream I and SeaDream II, twin yachts of about 4,300 gross tons for 112 guests each. The company describes itself as small and family owned, and in 2026 it marked its 25th anniversary by announcing SeaDream III, a 230-guest new build due in 2029.

About SeaDream Yacht Club

The motto is "It's yachting, not cruising": the ships carry 95 crew for 112 guests, every stateroom faces the sea, and fares include an open bar and gratuities. A watersports marina that can be lowered into the sea is used for swimming, kayaking, paddleboarding and other water sports, and the top deck has Balinese Dream Beds and a bar.

The twins spend winters in the Caribbean, mostly from San Juan and St. Thomas, and summers in the Mediterranean, with occasional seasons in Northern Europe and Norway and longer voyages farther afield.

What SeaDream Yacht Club is known for

SeaDream has a long record of awards: both yachts have held a Berlitz five-star rating since 2003, they have appeared on Condé Nast Traveler's Gold List and in its Readers' Choice Awards, and in 2025 Forbes Travel Guide cited the highest-rated restaurant at sea while Travel + Leisure named it the best intimate ship experience. Guests tend to praise the personal service, the food and the relaxed, club-like atmosphere. On the other hand, the ships are more than 40 years old, and their accommodations have been described as less luxurious than those on Seabourn or Silversea ships. In November 2020 a COVID-19 outbreak aboard SeaDream I in the Caribbean led the line to cancel the rest of its 2020 sailings.
