On Nov. 3, the line opened bookings for the first season of Celebrity Xcite, the sixth ship in its Edge Series. The ship will sail seven-night Caribbean cruises from Miami starting in 2028, according to [Celebrity's announcement](https://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/celebrity-cruises-opens-bookings-for-celebrity-xcites-debut-season-302927913.html).\n\nThe news came with a full 2028-29 Caribbean lineup, with ships leaving from four Florida ports and from San Juan.\n\n## Where Celebrity Xcite will sail\n\nXcite's first season will run on rotating seven-night routes from Miami. Ports on those routes include St. Thomas, Antigua, the British Virgin Islands, St. Kitts and Nevis, St. Maarten and the Dominican Republic. Celebrity points to The Baths at Virgin Gorda as one of the natural sights on offer.\n\n\"The Caribbean is our guests' favorite place to vacation,\" said Laura Hodges Bethge, president of Celebrity Cruises. \"Whether it's a long-awaited island getaway or a spontaneous weekend escape, we are creating new and fresh ways for guests to experience the region with Celebrity Cruises.\"\n\nThe release did not give an exact maiden voyage date. Cruise Hive reported that the earliest Xcite sailings open for booking leave in November 2028. Our ship records list Xcite at about 141,400 gross tons, with room for about 3,200 guests.\n\n## When you can book\n\nBookings open in two waves. Winter 2028-29 Caribbean sailings went on sale on Nov. 3, 2026. Summer 2028 Caribbean sailings open on Dec. 9, 2026.\n\n## Nine other ships in the Caribbean\n\n[Cruise Industry News reported](https://cruiseindustrynews.com/cruise-news/2026/11/bookings-open-for-celebrity-xcites-2028-debut-joining-9-caribbean-ships/) that Xcite will join nine other Celebrity ships in the region. They are Beyond, Eclipse, Ascent, Silhouette, Reflection, Apex, Constellation, Summit and Xcel. Here is how the release lays out the season.","textStyle":"body","layout":"text"},{"role":"htmltable","html":"<table><tr><th>Ship</th><th>Home port</th><th>What's new</th></tr><tr><td>Celebrity Xcite</td><td>Miami</td><td>Debut season, seven nights</td></tr><tr><td>Celebrity Beyond</td><td>Fort Lauderdale</td><td>Three-night weekends, Panama Canal</td></tr><tr><td>Celebrity Silhouette</td><td>San Juan and others</td><td>First full Southern Caribbean summer</td></tr><tr><td>Celebrity Xcel</td><td>Fort Lauderdale</td><td>Aruba, Bonaire and Curaçao</td></tr><tr><td>Celebrity Reflection</td><td>Fort Lauderdale</td><td>Year-round after its 2027 refit</td></tr><tr><td>Celebrity Apex</td><td>Port Canaveral</td><td>Central Florida sailings</td></tr><tr><td>Celebrity Constellation</td><td>Tampa</td><td>Seven-night trips</td></tr></table>","layout":"text"},{"role":"body","format":"markdown","text":"## The first short Edge Series cruises\n\nThe biggest change for repeat guests may be on Celebrity Beyond. For the first time, an Edge Series ship will run short getaways. Beyond will sail nine three-night weekend trips from Fort Lauderdale to The Bahamas between November 2028 and March 2029. Guests will also find the ship's newest venues, Orange Peel Bar & Grille, Tacos del Sol and Bora, which debut on board in November 2026.\n\nBeyond will also sail eight- to 11-night trips to places such as St. Kitts and Nevis, Martinique, Barbados, Saint Lucia and Antigua. The ship will also sail six Panama Canal voyages.\n\nCelebrity Eclipse adds weekend trips and 11-night cruises from Fort Lauderdale. Celebrity Summit will sail four- and five-night trips from Miami. Some short sailings stop at Royal Beach Club Paradise Island in Nassau.\n\n## Longer trips and a Southern Caribbean summer\n\nCelebrity Ascent gets nine- to 12-night sailings to spots such as Grand Cayman, Aruba, Curaçao, Saint Lucia, Barbados and Turks and Caicos. Celebrity Xcel will run six- and eight-night trips from Fort Lauderdale to the ABC islands, plus Western Caribbean routes to Mexico, Honduras and Grand Cayman.\n\nCelebrity Silhouette will give Celebrity its first full summer season in the Southern Caribbean. Its eight- to 12-night trips visit Barbados, Martinique, Saint Lucia and Grenada. Starting in October, it moves to seven-night cruises from San Juan with five port days on every trip.\n\nCelebrity Reflection keeps sailing year-round from Fort Lauderdale. Its March 2027 makeover adds 13 new spaces, including a Grand Plaza like the one on Edge Series ships. Celebrity Apex sails from Port Canaveral, and Celebrity Constellation sails seven-night trips from Tampa. That gives Celebrity four Florida home ports for the season.\n\n## What it means for cruisers\n\nIf you want to be among the first on Xcite, the winter 2028-29 dates are open now. If you would rather try an Edge Series ship without a full week off, the three-night Beyond weekends are the new option to watch. Prices were not part of the announcement, so check with Celebrity or a travel advisor for fares.","textStyle":"body","layout":"text"}]}
