The short version

Princess Cruises said today it will expand Sanctuary Collection, its exclusive resort-style package, across five Royal-class ships. The first to open for booking is Royal Princess. Sales start today for a 12-day South Pacific cruise that leaves on January 4, 2027.

The other four ships — Regal Princess, Discovery Princess, Sky Princess and Enchanted Princess — will open over the next two months. Princess calls the move the first phase of a multi-year fleet update.

Sanctuary Collection first appeared on Sun Princess and Star Princess. It bundles select suites and staterooms with private spaces, exclusive dining and Princess Premier, the line's richest drinks-and-dining package.

What guests get

Sanctuary guests get a private Sanctuary Club with lounges and a dedicated pool. Cabanas at that pool cost extra. There is also a Sanctuary Restaurant with menus tied to the ports the ship visits.

Suite guests get a suite concierge and a private Suite Lounge. Every Sanctuary booking includes Princess Premier once that ship is on sale. Premier covers premium unlimited drinks, specialty and casual dining, high-speed Wi-Fi, crew appreciation, complimentary room service and OceanNow delivery.

Other listed perks include priority access and reservations, curated in-room amenities, tailored daily programs and dedicated service.

Princess president Gus Antorcha said Sanctuary has become "one of the most distinctive and desirable ways to experience Princess," and that the expansion lets more guests get "the privacy, personalized service and premium amenities they would expect from an intimate luxury resort" while still using the rest of the ship.

When each ship goes on sale

Here is the booking calendar Princess published today:

  • Royal Princess: on sale today. First Sanctuary sailing is the 12-day South Pacific cruise departing January 4, 2027.
  • Regal Princess: on sale November 5, 2026. First sailing is a transatlantic cruise from Port Everglades on April 17, 2027.
  • Discovery Princess: on sale December 4, 2026. First sailing is a seven-day Mexico cruise roundtrip from Los Angeles on April 24, 2027.
  • Sky Princess: on sale December 10, 2026. First sailing is a 14-day Baltic cruise from Southampton on May 29, 2027.
  • Enchanted Princess: on sale December 17, 2026. First sailing is a seven-day Mediterranean cruise from Civitavecchia on June 12, 2027.

One important detail for Royal Princess guests who already booked: if you reserved a Reserve Collection stateroom before October 22, 2026, Princess says you will get the Sanctuary Collection experience and the added amenities at no extra cost. Princess Premier is not part of that free upgrade.

Why this matters

Sanctuary started as a Sphere-class exclusive on the two newest Princess ships. Spreading it to five older Royal-class ships is a big capacity jump. More sailings from Los Angeles, Port Everglades, Southampton and Rome will carry the package, not only the newbuilds.

It also shows how Princess is competing with ship-within-a-ship products such as Norwegian's Haven and MSC Yacht Club. Guests who want quieter spaces and included Premier perks can now shop a wider set of itineraries.

What Princess has not said

The release does not list Sanctuary fares or how many cabins on each Royal-class ship will join the collection. It also does not say when the physical Sanctuary Club spaces on each ship will be finished, only when bookings open.
