The TV host and cookbook author has joined the 2027 lineup for Chefs Making Waves, a food-themed cruise from Sixthman, the company known for its music festival cruises.\n\nThe four-night sailing runs April 20 to 24, 2027, from Miami to Puerto Plata in the Dominican Republic aboard [Norwegian Jewel](https://cruisesfrog.com/ships/norwegian-jewel), according to [Cruise Industry News](https://cruiseindustrynews.com/cruise-news/2026/10/rachael-ray-joins-sixthmans-chefs-making-waves-2027-sailing/). Sixthman produces the event with partners a21 and EBG, [Cruise News reported](https://www.cruisenews.io/rachael-ray-joins-chefs-making-waves-2027-cruise-lineup/).\n\n## What Rachael Ray said\n\nRay framed the trip around sharing meals, not just watching cooking demos.\n\n\"Some of my favorite moments have been around a table, sharing good food with great people, and that's what I'm looking forward to with Chefs Making Waves,\" she said. \"When you have multiple days together, there's time to swap stories, talk about what you're cooking at home and get to know each other beyond a recipe or a demonstration. I can't wait to join everyone onboard and enjoy some delicious food together.\"\n\n## The rest of the lineup\n\nRay joins a deep bench of food TV names. Clinton Kelly, Carla Hall and Michael Symon, the hosts of Chewed Up, will tape episodes live onboard. Also on the roster are Kardea Brown, Tiffany Derry, Duff Goldman and Marcus Samuelsson.\n\nSeveral chefs are bringing their own events:\n\n* **Kardea Brown** hosts \"Kardea's Family Reunion at Sea.\"\n* **Marcus Samuelsson** leads a talk on his cookbook, *Back to Green: Rediscovering a World of Delicious, Healthy Eating*.\n* **Robbie Felice and Giorgio Rapicavoli** host \"Pop-Up Confidential.\"\n* **Giorgio Rapicavoli** also leads a fitness session called \"Chops-Fit.\"\n* **Joe Isidori** plays DJ at a Headphone Dance Party.\n\n## How dining works onboard\n\nFood is the point of this cruise, so dining is built into the program. Each guest gets three reservations at chef-curated \"Culinary Collectives\" restaurants. The buffet will also feature dishes built around the participating chefs.\n\nSixthman CEO Jeff Cuellar said the goal is a sense of community. \"This lineup of chefs brings warmth and a genuine love of food that make each of them a great fit for Chefs Making Waves,\" he said. \"We want guests to feel cared for and have opportunities to connect with their favorite culinary personalities, and we know that sharing meals and conversations is how that community takes shape. We're excited to set sail next year!\"\n\n## The ship\n\nNorwegian Jewel is the lead ship of Norwegian Cruise Line's Jewel class. Built by Meyer Werft in Germany, she entered service in 2005, carries about 2,368 guests at double occupancy and was last refurbished in 2025. Her regular venues include Cagney's Steakhouse and Magnum's Champagne and Wine Bar.\n\n## More Chefs Making Waves sailings\n\nThe April trip is one of three Chefs Making Waves sailings on the calendar:\n\n* **November 6 to 11, 2026:** Norwegian Joy, calling at Montego Bay, Jamaica, and George Town, Grand Cayman, with Bobby Flay, Carson Kressley, Antonia Lofaso and Michael Voltaggio.\n* **April 20 to 24, 2027:** Norwegian Jewel, Miami to Puerto Plata, with Rachael Ray and the lineup above.\n* **September 21 to 28, 2027:** an Alaska sailing.\n\n## Is it worth it?\n\nA themed cruise is a different trip from a regular cruise. You're paying for access: live tapings, talks, chef-hosted events and the chance to chat with people you've watched on TV for years. If you love food television, that's a rare kind of vacation. If you mostly want a quiet Caribbean getaway, a regular sailing will likely cost less and feel calmer. Check the event's site for cabin pricing and what's included before you book.","textStyle":"body","layout":"text"}]}
