A return trip on Valiant Lady comes with new things to look forward to. Virgin Voyages' June 18 account of the ship's dry-dock refresh describes changes to dining, deck seating and entertainment spaces that go beyond a fresh coat of paint.

This is a look at upgrades announced earlier in 2026, rather than a new refurbishment taking place today. For travelers considering the ship's next voyage, the changes offer a useful reason to take another look.

Ariya gives dinner a new direction

Ariya by Razzle Dazzle introduces modern Indian dining to the ship. Virgin's current Valiant Lady page credits the concept to Indie Culinaire by Chef Maneet Chauhan and describes saffron-led main courses and cardamom cocktails. The restaurant takes its name from Richard Branson's great-great-grandmother.

The appeal for a returning guest is straightforward: a familiar ship can still offer an unfamiliar evening. A new restaurant gives a group something to discover together, without requiring them to choose a completely different cruise experience.

Virgin's dining guide also presents Ariya alongside the fleet's wider restaurant offering. The line includes its eateries in the voyage fare, although that should not be read as a promise that cocktails or every optional purchase are included.

For food-focused travelers, the menu is a better starting point than a restaurant's name. Review the current choices, ask about dietary needs and decide which evening would suit a longer dinner together.

Small changes can improve a whole afternoon

The refresh adds shaded daybed clusters at the Athletic Club and revises seating in other public areas. Virgin also describes a new stage arrangement and windscreen at The Dock, plus new furniture groupings in The Roundabout.

Our view is that these are worthwhile things to examine because they affect ordinary moments aboard. A comfortable place to read, a shaded seat for a conversation or a better setting for music can matter repeatedly over the course of a holiday.

They are also easy features to overlook when comparing ships only by headline attractions. Think about where you would spend a quiet hour, as well as where you would go for a big night out.

More room for music and evenings together

Virgin says The Manor has a larger dance floor. At On the Rocks, the refresh removes dividing walls, adds seating and relocates the stage with sightlines in mind. Grounds Club Too shifts from a daytime café into a full-service evening bar.

Those changes suggest several ways to enjoy the same ship without planning every hour. One person can favor a seated performance while another looks forward to dancing, with shared dinner providing the meeting point.

Our Valiant Lady profile can help place the venues in the wider ship experience. Use the deck plan to consider where you would prefer your cabin, especially if late evenings are part of the appeal.

A familiar ship with fresh reasons to return

A refurbishment is most interesting when its changes match the way you travel. For Valiant Lady, the encouraging theme is a combination of new dining and improvements to the places where guests spend time together.

Read the current menu and sailing details before choosing dates. If those are the parts of a cruise you most enjoy, this refresh gives you several concrete reasons to put Valiant Lady back on the shortlist.
