Fram is a polar expedition ship built by Fincantieri in Italy for Hurtigruten's expedition program and in service since 2007, named after the vessel used by explorers Fridtjof Nansen and Roald Amundsen. She measures 114 meters and 11,647 gross tons, and a 2025 refurbishment brought her to 200 guests, renewed the cabins and expanded the Science Centre. On board are two restaurants, an outdoor barbecue, hot tubs and a forward-facing Explorer Lounge & Bar. In the southern summer she sails Antarctic voyages from Ushuaia, including trips to the Falklands and South Georgia, and in the northern summer she works in the Arctic.
