About Grandeur of the Seas

Grandeur of the Seas is a Royal Caribbean International cruise ship of the Vision class, in service since 1996. She measures 73,817 gross tons and carries 1,992 guests with a crew of 760. She sails Caribbean itineraries. We rate her 3.8 out of 5.

Grandeur of the Seas is the oldest and smallest ship in the Royal Caribbean fleet, a Vision-class vessel of about 74,000 gross tons built at Kvaerner Masa-Yards in Helsinki and in service since December 1996. Onboard there is a full-service spa, a casino, an outdoor jogging track and several whirlpools, and her most recent major refit was in 2012. A plan announced in 2019 to move her to Pullmantur Cruises was dropped in 2020, so she stayed with Royal Caribbean. For winter 2026-27 she sails Southern Caribbean cruises that start in Colón, Panama, or Cartagena, Colombia, and she moves to San Juan, Puerto Rico, for the following summer.

Cabins to avoid & quieter candidates

  • Forward Deck 3 where Decks 2 and 4 also show cabins

Compare forward Deck 3 cabin overlap

Start with the forward accommodation section and align the exact room with cabins immediately above and below. Avoid assuming the aft section has the same relationship; check dining and public footprints there.

    Why we flag this

The selected plans show forward accommodation on Decks 2, 3 and 4, while Deck 4 also contains major public areas farther aft. Quiet is a conditional layout preference, not a guarantee. Check the source plan.

  • Deck 8 below occupied Deck 9 public areas

Check Deck 8 beneath pools and dining

Match the room to pool, whirlpool, outdoor seating, buffet and wellness footprints above. Ask about hours and furniture setup where spaces overlap.

    Why we flag this

The selected Deck 9 diagram shows pool and public facilities above portions of Deck 8 accommodation. Exact position matters; not every cabin lies under the same venue. Check the source plan.

  • Rooms near the central lift and atrium circulation

    Check accommodation near the Centrum

Check whether the door is beside the lift lobby, stair access or open Centrum area. Ask about evening events and the actual corridor separation before booking.

    Why we flag this

The selected ship plans show central vertical circulation and the Centrum adjoining accommodation routes. This flags proximity, not measured sound transmission or a confirmed complaint. Check the source plan.

Location-based guidance, not measured noise or a guarantee of quiet. Flags identify areas to investigate, not every cabin on a deck. Check the exact room, connecting doors, accessibility and the plan for your sailing date. Official ship-specific interactive SVG deck artwork for the operator-selected sailing period. PDF compiled by Cruise Frog, not separately issued by Royal Caribbean. The source link preserves the selected operator profile.. Reviewed 2026-10-22.
