About MSC Sinfonia

MSC Sinfonia is an MSC Cruises cruise ship of the Lirica class, in service since 2002. She measures 65,542 gross tons and carries 2,087 guests with a crew of 721. She sails Mediterranean itineraries. We rate her 3.0 out of 5.

MSC Sinfonia is a Lirica-class ship completed in 2002 as European Stars, the last ship built for Festival Cruises. After Festival went bankrupt she was laid up in Barcelona, bought by MSC in 2004 and put into service under her new name in March 2005. In early 2015 Fincantieri's Palermo yard inserted a 24-metre midsection with 193 extra cabins, taking her to about 65,500 gross tons and 275 metres. Most of her passenger decks are named after composers. In summer 2026 she sails seven-night Greek Isles cruises from Bari, and she stays in the Mediterranean for winter 2026-27.

Cabins to avoid & quieter candidates

  • Deck 9 between accommodation on Decks 8 and 10

Start with central Deck 9 accommodation

Compare a central cabin with accommodation immediately above and below, away from lift lobbies, stairs, connecting doors and service access. Confirm the exact room footprint and outlook before booking.

    Why we flag this

The ship-specific operator artwork shows extensive accommodation on these decks. This is a layout-based shortlist, not measured sound data or a guarantee of quiet. Check the source plan.

  • Deck 10 below occupied public areas on Deck 11

Check Deck 10 beneath pools and dining

Align the exact room with pool, whirlpool, buffet, outdoor seating and other public footprints above. Ask about opening hours, early setup and furniture movement where the areas overlap.

    Why we flag this

The selected ship diagrams place public pool and dining areas on Deck 11 over portions of Deck 10 accommodation. Some upper-deck sections contain suites or different venues, so this does not flag every cabin equally. Check the source plan.

  • Deck 7 over occupied Deck 6 areas

Check Deck 7 above public venues

Match the room with theatre, lounge, restaurant, bar and circulation footprints below. Check the nearest venue and hours rather than judging the room only by category.

    Why we flag this

The ship-specific diagrams show major public spaces on Deck 6 beneath portions of Deck 7 accommodation. This is an adjacency caution, not a confirmed noise complaint. Check the source plan.

Location-based guidance, not measured noise or a guarantee of quiet. Flags identify areas to investigate, not every cabin on a deck.
