About Paul Gauguin

Paul Gauguin is a Paul Gauguin Cruises cruise ship, in service since 1998. She measures 19,200 gross tons and carries 330 guests with a crew of 209. She sails South Pacific, Asia, Australia and New Zealand itineraries. We rate her 4.0 out of 5.

Paul Gauguin is a small luxury ship designed for the islands of French Polynesia and the only ship of Paul Gauguin Cruises. Chantiers de l'Atlantique completed her at Saint-Nazaire in December 1997; at 154 metres and 19,200 gross tons she carries up to 330 guests in 165 staterooms and suites, and she was built to reach small island ports that larger ships cannot. A retractable marina at the stern supports water sports and an onboard PADI dive program. She sailed under Regent Seven Seas until 2010 and then for Pacific Beachcomber, until Ponant bought the line in 2019 and moved her to the French flag. A seven-week dry dock in Singapore, finished in April 2025, added connecting staterooms and reworked the pool deck and Le Grill. Most cruises are round trips from Papeete, with occasional voyages to Fiji, Australia and Indonesia.
