About Star Pride

Star Pride is a Windstar Cruises cruise ship of the Star class, in service since 1988. She measures 12,995 gross tons and carries 312 guests with a crew of 200. She sails Northern Europe, Caribbean, Panama Canal, Canada and New England, Transatlantic itineraries. We rate her 3.7 out of 5.

Star Pride is an all-suite Star Class yacht for 312 guests, built in Germany by Schichau Seebeckwerft in 1988 as Seabourn Pride, the first of Seabourn's three original ships. Windstar bought her in 2013 and began sailing her on May 5, 2014, from Barcelona. Under its Star Plus program, Fincantieri in Palermo inserted a new midsection with 50 more suites, two new dining venues, a spa and an infinity pool, and replaced her engines, finishing in October 2021 and raising capacity from 208 to 312 guests. She spends winters in the Caribbean from San Juan and summers in Northern Europe, Iceland, and Canada and New England.

Cabins to avoid & quieter candidates

  • Deck 5 cabin sections with suites above and below

Start with midship Deck 5 accommodation

Compare the exact room with Deck 4 and Deck 6 suites, away from the aft lounge and reception access. This offers a cabin-sandwiched starting point.

    Why we flag this

The shared plan places accommodation on Decks 4–6, with the Deck 5 lounge aft. This is a layout-based preference, not measured sound data. Check the source plan.

  • Deck 6 beneath occupied areas of Deck 7

Check Deck 6 below the pool and fitness spaces

Match the individual suite to the pool, whirlpool, fitness center or spa overhead. Activity and setup may matter to light sleepers; do not treat every suite on the deck alike.

    Why we flag this

The plan shows the pool and whirlpool aft on Deck 7 and the fitness center and spa forward/midship, above parts of Deck 6 accommodation. Check the source plan.

  • Aft Deck 5 accommodation near reception and the lounge

Check proximity to the Deck 5 lounge

Check distance from the screening room, lounge entrance and public lobby if you retire early. Convenience can come with more passing traffic.

    Why we flag this

The shared plan places reception, the destination office, screening room and lounge aft of the Deck 5 suites. Check the source plan.

Location-based guidance, not measured noise or a guarantee of quiet. Flags identify areas to investigate, not every cabin on a deck. Check the exact room, connecting doors, accessibility and the plan for your sailing date. 14 April 2026 shared Star Breeze / Star Legend / Star Pride plan. Find the cabin on the selected plan, then compare the same fore-and-aft position on the deck above and below.
