About Voyager of the Seas

Voyager of the Seas is a Royal Caribbean International cruise ship of the Voyager class, in service since 1999. She measures 138,194 gross tons and carries 3,602 guests with a crew of 1,200. She sails Mexican Riviera, Alaska itineraries. We rate her 4.0 out of 5.

Voyager of the Seas is the lead ship of the Voyager class, built at Kvaerner Masa-Yards in Turku, Finland, and named in November 1999 by Olympic figure skater Katarina Witt. The class introduced the Royal Promenade, an indoor street of shops and bars, and the first ice rink at sea. A 2014 refit raised her tonnage to 138,194, and a US$97 million Royal Amplified refit in 2019 added 72 cabins, water slides and other upgrades. In 2026-27 she sails Mexican Riviera cruises from Los Angeles in winter and Alaska cruises from Seattle in summer before heading to Australia.

Cabins to avoid & quieter candidates

  • Deck 8 between cabin Decks 7 and 9

Start with central Deck 8 accommodation

Compare a central room with accommodation immediately above and below, away from lifts, stairs, connecting doors and service access. Also confirm whether the room faces the sea or an internal space.

    Why we flag this

The selected sailing edition shows extensive accommodation on Decks 7, 8 and 9. This is a spatial starting point, not measured sound data or a guarantee of quiet. Check the source plan.

  • Deck 10 under occupied Deck 11 areas

Check Deck 10 beneath pools and dining

Match the room to pool, whirlpool, dining, outdoor seating and fitness footprints above. Ask about early setup and furniture movement where areas overlap.

    Why we flag this

The ship-specific Deck 11 diagram labels pools, public dining and wellness areas above portions of Deck 10 accommodation. Any upper-deck cabins shown need their own footprint check. Check the source plan.

  • Deck 6 over occupied Deck 5 public areas

Check Deck 6 above the Royal Promenade

Compare the room with entertainment, dining, bars and circulation below. For an inward-facing room, also check the promenade outlook and privacy before choosing by category alone.

    Why we flag this

The ship-specific plans place major public spaces on Deck 5 below portions of Deck 6 accommodation. The note flags layout relationships rather than confirmed disturbance. Check the source plan.

Location-based guidance, not measured noise or a guarantee of quiet. Flags identify areas to investigate, not every cabin on a deck. Check the exact room, connecting doors, accessibility and the plan for your sailing date. Official ship-specific deck artwork for the selected Royal Caribbean sailing period. Which cabins are good choices on Voyager of the Seas?

For the “Sailings 2026-04-06 to 2027-04-15” plan, start with these quieter-location candidates: Deck 8 between cabin Decks 7 and 9: Compare a central room with accommodation immediately above and below, away from lifts, stairs, connecting doors and service access. Also confirm whether the room faces the sea or an internal space. Compare the exact cabin with the decks above and below, nearby lifts and connecting doors. These are layout-based suggestions, not a guarantee of quiet.

Which cabins should I avoid or check carefully on Voyager of the Seas?

For the “Sailings 2026-04-06 to 2027-04-15” plan, review these flagged locations before booking: Deck 10 under occupied Deck 11 areas: Match the room to pool, whirlpool, dining, outdoor seating and fitness footprints above. Ask about early setup and furniture movement where areas overlap. Deck 6 over occupied Deck 5 public areas: Compare the room with entertainment, dining, bars and circulation below. Read the sourced cabin advice for the evidence and any explicit operator warnings.

How can I check whether a cabin is under a pool, nightclub or theatre?

Find the cabin on the selected plan, then compare the same fore-and-aft position on the deck above and below. Use the cabin advice and its sources to distinguish layout cautions from operator warnings.
