Atlas Ocean Voyages
Atlas Ocean Voyages is a small-ship line that sells all-inclusive voyages on yacht-style ships of about 200 guests, mixing polar expeditions with cultural and food-themed itineraries. Established in September 2019 and based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, it is the U.S. arm of Mystic Cruises, the ocean cruise division of Portugal's Mystic Invest Holding, and its ships sail under the Portuguese flag.

About Atlas Ocean Voyages
World Navigator entered service in 2021 and World Traveller in 2022, both built at the WestSEA yard in Viana do Castelo; World Voyager, a 2020 sister first chartered to Nicko Cruises, joined in 2023 and from the 2026–27 season spends three Antarctic winters on charter to Quark Expeditions. The next ship, Atlas Adventurer, is planned as a larger sail-assisted expedition yacht for 2028.
The ships hold Polar Category C and ice class 1B ratings, which lets them sail from the Antarctic Peninsula to the Arctic. Winters are spent in Antarctica, mostly on round trips from Ushuaia, and the rest of the year in the Mediterranean, Atlantic Europe, Iceland, Svalbard and Greenland. Fares include drinks and 24-hour room service, and each ship has a low Water's Edge deck for wildlife watching.
What Atlas Ocean Voyages is known for
Atlas has drawn attention for bringing an all-inclusive, yacht-style product to Antarctica on ships small enough for frequent landings. Reviewers often praise the attentive service, the food and the included drinks, and the ships are newer and more design-led than many expedition vessels. Its Epicurean and cultural voyages give it a broader range than polar-only operators.
The line is young and small, and its plans have shifted: two newbuilds it had planned, World Seeker and World Explorer, were sold during construction to Windstar Cruises, and World Voyager now spends its winters with another operator. Travelers focused purely on polar science sometimes prefer long-established specialist lines with larger expedition teams, and the sail-assisted Atlas Adventurer has yet to prove itself.
Who it's for
Expedition · small ships to remote places, with naturalists and landings
- Couples
- Adventure seekers
- Food lovers
Atlas suits couples and experienced travelers who want an Antarctic or Arctic voyage with the comfort of a small luxury ship, as well as food and culture lovers drawn to its Mediterranean and Atlantic Europe itineraries. Inclusive fares make the cost easier to predict, and the ships are small enough for intimate port calls.
Families with young children, travelers on a tight budget and anyone looking for big-ship entertainment should look elsewhere, and those who want the deepest polar science program may prefer a specialist expedition line.
Cruising solo on Atlas Ocean Voyages
Atlas appeals to solo travelers mainly through pricing. Its three yacht-style ships of about 200 guests have no cabins designed for one (the Solo Suites it announced for World Navigator in 2021 no longer appear among its suite categories), but its Single Explorer Savings offer sells select expeditions at a reduced single supplement starting at 150 percent of the per-person double-occupancy fare. All-inclusive fares make the total cost easier to predict, and the small ships suit travelers bound for Antarctica, the Arctic or Europe, although the line runs no formal solo program.
- Single supplement
- No cabins are priced for one. Under its Single Explorer Savings offer, Atlas sells select voyages to solo travelers at a reduced single supplement starting at 150 percent of the per-person double-occupancy fare; the offer is capacity controlled and excludes air, excursions and land programs.
- Meeting other solo guests
- Atlas publishes no hosted solo program. Its ships carry about 200 guests with open-seating dining and included drinks, and the line says solo guests meet others over dinner and on shared expedition landings and excursions.
