Azamara has announced 85 cruises for its winter 2028–29 season, giving travelers an early look at trips across Africa, Asia, Europe and the Americas. The useful detail is how the line is dividing its four ships. A traveler looking for Japan has a different shortlist from someone hoping to visit the Indian Ocean.

The program runs from October 29, 2028, through May 19, 2029. It covers 81 countries and 210 ports, according to Azamara’s announcement. Those are totals across the season, not the number of stops on a single voyage.

Cruise Industry News highlighted the new program on X, including Azamara Onward’s return to Africa and the Indian Ocean.

Where the four ships will go

Onward’s plan includes the Seychelles, Mauritius, Réunion and Madagascar. Azamara also lists a call at Jamestown, St. Helena, on December 12, 2028. That remote island stop is a reason to study the complete itinerary, including the sea days on either side.

Journey will focus on the Mediterranean, Iberia and the Canary Islands. Pursuit will sail in Australia, New Zealand and Japan. Quest’s announced portion includes the Mediterranean, a transatlantic crossing and the Caribbean before its world cruise.

The line says the season includes 94 overnight stays and more than 200 late departures. Longer calls can make an evening ashore possible, but an overnight is not the same as two full sightseeing days. Compare the actual arrival and departure times before paying for an excursion or hotel.

Match the itinerary to the trip you want

Some Journey sailings include three consecutive days in Alexandria. That may interest travelers who want a longer visit in Egypt. It still leaves practical questions about travel time, guided tours and what the cruise fare covers. The port schedule alone does not answer them.

Pursuit’s program includes five Japan Intensive voyages from late March through May 2029. That places them in a popular spring travel window. It does not guarantee cherry blossoms at a particular stop. Weather and location matter, so choose a trip you would enjoy even without peak bloom.

Broome overnight calls feature in the Australia program. For a distant trip like this, compare the cruise with the cost of reaching the ship and returning home. An appealing fare can become less attractive when the flight routing adds hotel nights or difficult connections.

Read the early-booking terms before committing

Azamara advertises a 30% early-booking bonus across cabin categories, but excludes Grand Voyages. A headline percentage is not enough to establish the best deal. Ask for the final price, deposit terms and cancellation schedule for the specific sailing.

Keep a copy of the quote and compare what is included. Shore tours, transfers and pre-cruise stays can change the total. Solo travelers should also compare the actual single-occupancy price; our Azamara solo-cruising guide explains why cabin pricing deserves separate attention.

The strongest reason to book early is access to an itinerary and cabin you want at acceptable terms. The season-wide port count is useful background. Your decision should rest on the daily schedule of the one voyage you will actually take.
