Tauck is doubling its presence on France's Rhône River. The tour company will add a new riverboat, ms Harmonie, in 2028 and launch three new itineraries built around the river.
Tauck shared the news in a press release dated October 27, 2026. Harmonie will sail alongside ms Lumière, which already serves the Rhône for Tauck.
A second ship for the Rhône
With Harmonie in the fleet, Tauck says its Rhône capacity doubles in 2028. The company also says its total river cruise capacity will be more than 50% higher than in 2025 by that year.
Harmonie is built for the river's locks and towns. Tauck lists these details:

- 135 meters long
- 130 guests and 50 crew
- 22 Tauck Suites of 300 square feet
- 34 cabins of 225 square feet
- 12 cabins of 180 square feet
- A Sun Deck and a lounge space called The Retreat
Essence of the Rhône
The first new trip is Essence of the Rhône. It runs six days and five nights between Lyon and Arles aboard Harmonie, in both directions. It is a cruise-only trip, so there are no hotel nights.
Stops include Lyon's Old Town, the hilltop village of Viviers and the Roman city of Arles. Departures run in spring and fall. Prices start at $3,490 per person.
A Week On... the Rhône
The second new trip, A Week On... the Rhône, lasts eight days. It includes five nights aboard Lumière between Lyon and Arles.
Highlights include the Palais des Papes in Avignon and a visit to a farm in the Camargue, the wetland region near the Mediterranean. In Tain-l'Hermitage, guests can choose truffle-making at Valrhona, the chocolate maker, or a ride on a rail bike. Prices start at $4,790 per person.
Barcelona, Burgundy and the Rhône
The longest new trip is Barcelona, Burgundy & the Rhône. It runs 14 days. Guests spend three nights at a hotel in Barcelona and then nine nights on the river between Barcelona and Lyon. A high-speed train links the two parts of the trip.
The route covers five wine regions. Stops include the Hôtel-Dieu in Beaune and the Château de Cormatin. Prices start at $8,790 per person.
All prices are per person, based on double occupancy, and do not include airfare.
More wellness sailings
Tauck is also expanding its Wellness Departures. Its first two are planned for 2027 on ms Serene. In 2028, the company plans five.
Tauck also highlighted a new Rhine trip for 2028, Rhine Enchantment: Italian Lakes to Amsterdam. It runs 11 days and includes three nights at the Hotel Splendide Royal in Lugano, Switzerland.
Why it matters
The Rhône is one of Europe's most popular river cruise routes. It pairs Lyon's food scene with Provence's Roman ruins, lavender country and vineyards. Many trips sell out early, especially in spring and fall.
A second Tauck ship on the river gives travelers more dates to pick from. The new six-day Essence trip also offers a shorter option for people who want a taste of the region without a full week or more. The 14-day Barcelona trip goes the other way, mixing a city stay, a long river cruise and a train ride into one package.
Travelers who want a 2028 Rhône trip may want to watch for Tauck's booking dates and lock in a departure early.
