About Costa Mediterranea
Costa Mediterranea is a former Costa Cruises cruise ship of the Spirit class, which sailed 2003 to 2021. She measured 85,619 gross tons and carried 2,114 guests with a crew of 912.
Costa Mediterranea was an 85,619-ton ship built at Kvaerner Masa-Yards' Helsinki New Shipyard on Carnival's Spirit-class design, the sister of Costa Atlantica. It left Genoa on its maiden voyage to Spain and Portugal on 16 June 2003 with room for about 2,114 guests, and its twelve decks were named after figures from myth and history. In 2008 it was the first ship to call at Saint Petersburg's new passenger port, and it was refurbished at Palermo in late 2013. Costa transferred the ship to the Chinese joint venture CSSC Carnival Cruise Shipping in 2021, and it now sails in the Chinese market as Adora Mediterranea for Adora Cruises.
