About Costa neoRomantica
Costa neoRomantica is a former Costa Cruises cruise ship of the Classica class, which sailed 1993 to 2020. She measured 56,769 gross tons and carried 1,578 guests with a crew of 662. She sailed Asia itineraries.
Costa neoRomantica began in 1993 as Costa Romantica, a Fincantieri-built sister of Costa Classica. A 90 million euro rebuild in Genoa that began in November 2011 added two half decks, more than 100 cabins and many balconies, raising its tonnage from about 53,000 to 56,769, and the ship returned under its new name in March 2012. It carried about 1,578 guests, and from 2017 it sailed for the Asian market from Hong Kong and China. Its cruises were cancelled in early 2020, and Costa sold it to Celestyal Cruises in July 2020. It never sailed for its new owner and was beached for scrapping in Pakistan in December 2021.
