Costa Serena is a Concordia-class ship of about 114,000 tons, built by Fincantieri at Sestri Ponente and in service since 2007. Its public rooms follow a Mount Olympus theme, and its Solemio spa spreads across two decks. After roughly a decade of sailing for Chinese and other Asian markets, the ship spent late 2025 in a Chinese shipyard, where the Olympus decor was redone in a pop-art style and a food court, the Archipelago restaurant with menus by three Michelin-starred chefs, a pizzeria and a sushi bar were added. On 18 October 2026 it sets out from Tokyo on a world voyage that ends in South America, where it sails from Rio de Janeiro and Buenos Aires before moving to the Mediterranean in 2027.
