About Renaissance

Renaissance is an Ambassador Cruise Line cruise ship of the Statendam class, in service since 1993. She measures 55,575 gross tons and carries 1,258 guests with a crew of 580. She sails Caribbean, Mediterranean, Northern Europe, Transatlantic itineraries. We rate her 3.2 out of 5.

Renaissance was built by Fincantieri at Monfalcone and entered service in December 1993 as Holland America Line's Maasdam. Sold in 2020 to Seajets, which laid her up as Aegean Myth, she was bought in 2022 by the new French line Compagnie Française de Croisières and returned to service in June 2023. When CFC merged with Ambassador in January 2025 to form the Ambassador Group, she joined the fleet, and in September 2026 the French operation was renamed Ambassador Croisières. At 55,575 gross tons she carries about 1,100 to 1,260 guests.

She leads a double life. From spring to autumn she sails for French-speaking guests from Dunkirk and Marseille with a French crew and open-seating dining. From late October to the start of April she homeports at Bridgetown, Barbados, for Ambassador's Caribbean fly-cruise program: 14-night loops sold to British, French and Dutch guests, with dedicated Virgin Atlantic charter flights from London Heathrow and Manchester every other Sunday, plus two repositioning voyages between the UK and Barbados each season. The first Caribbean season began on October 30, 2025, and the second runs October 29, 2026 to April 1, 2027.

Cabins to avoid & quieter candidates

  • Deck 9 between accommodation on Decks 8 and 10

Compare central Deck 9 cabin overlap

Shortlist a room with cabins immediately above and below. Align the exact footprint and check lift lobbies, service doors, staircases and connecting-room symbols.

    Why we flag this

The ship-specific operator maps show accommodation across these decks. This is a conditional layout preference rather than measured sound data or a guarantee of quiet. Check the source plan.

  • Deck 10 beneath occupied Deck 11 public facilities

Check Deck 10 below pool and dining areas

Compare the exact cabin with pool seating, dining, fitness and spa footprints above. Ask about hours, early setup and furniture movement in overlapping spaces.

    Why we flag this

The official ship diagrams label pool and public facilities on the deck above portions of this accommodation deck. Exact overlap matters; this is not a confirmed noise report. Check the source plan.

  • Deck 7 over occupied Deck 6 public venues

Check Deck 7 above entertainment and dining

Check whether the room sits above a show lounge, bar, restaurant or busy public circulation. Ask about event and venue hours for the exact overlapping area.

    Why we flag this

The selected operator maps place major public venues below portions of this accommodation deck. The caution describes possible adjacency noise and does not apply equally to every room. Check the source plan.

Location-based guidance, not measured noise or a guarantee of quiet. Flags identify areas to investigate, not every cabin on a deck. Check the exact room, connecting doors, accessibility and the plan for your sailing date. Official June 2026 full-plan PDF and ship-specific deck images currently linked on the operator page; French and English venue labels retained.. Reviewed 2026-10-22.

Ask about hours, early setup and furniture movement in overlapping spaces. Deck 7 over occupied Deck 6 public venues: Check whether the room sits above a show lounge, bar, restaurant or busy public circulation. Ask about event and venue hours for the exact overlapping area. How can I check whether a cabin is under a pool, nightclub or theatre?

Find the cabin on the selected plan, then compare the same fore-and-aft position on the deck above and below.
