About Scenic Eclipse

Scenic Eclipse is a Scenic Luxury Cruises & Tours cruise ship, in service since 2019. She measures 17,545 gross tons and carries 228 guests with a crew of 176. She sails Antarctica, Mediterranean, South America, Northern Europe itineraries. We rate her 4.2 out of 5.

Scenic Eclipse is the first of Scenic's ocean-going "Discovery Yachts", an all-suite expedition ship of 17,545 gross tons with a Polar Class 6 rating and room for 228 guests, cut to 200 on polar voyages. Her construction at the Uljanik yard in Pula, Croatia, was delayed repeatedly by the builder's bankruptcy; she finally embarked her first passengers in Reykjavík on August 15, 2019, and Helen Mirren named her in New York that September. Every one of the 114 suites has a balcony, and the ship carries two helicopters and a small submarine, Scenic Neptune, for optional paid excursions. Scenic upgraded her in 2021 and 2024, adding among other things a salt-therapy room in the spa and a bar on the Sky Deck. She divides her year between Antarctica, the Arctic and warmer voyages in Europe, the Mediterranean and South America.
