About Silver Origin

Silver Origin is a Silversea Cruises cruise ship, in service since 2021. She measures 5,800 gross tons and carries 100 guests with a crew of 90. She sails Galápagos itineraries. We rate her 4.3 out of 5.

Silver Origin is a 100-guest expedition ship built by Shipyard De Hoop in the Netherlands for year-round cruising in the Galápagos Islands. Planned as a sister to Celebrity Flora, she was reassigned to Silversea, delivered in Rotterdam in June 2020 and, after pandemic delays, welcomed her first guests on 19 June 2021. She was christened in the islands in February 2022 by conservationist Johanna Carrión. She sails seven-night voyages from San Cristóbal throughout the year, replacing the older Silver Galapagos.

Cabins to avoid & quieter candidates

  • Forward Deck 5 below Deck 6 suites

Compare forward Deck 5 suites with care

Forward Deck 5 suites have accommodation above; compare the room with the restaurant and other public areas on Deck 4 below. This is a relative starting point, not a cabin-only sandwich. Avoid spa, fitness and lift access where those footprints overlap.

    Why we flag this

The plan shows suites on Decks 5 and 6, and restaurant/public spaces on Deck 4. The ship has no three consecutive suite-only decks. Check the source plan.

  • Deck 6 under occupied Deck 7 areas

Check Deck 6 beneath the open deck and Grill

Match the suite to The Grill, observation lounge, whirlpool and open-deck seating above. Ask about public-area hours and furniture setup where they overlap.

    Why we flag this

The operator plan labels these public facilities on Deck 7 above portions of Deck 6 suites. Check the source plan.

  • Deck 5 beside public wellness areas

Check Deck 5 around fitness and spa access

Compare door position with fitness, spa and circulation routes before choosing a suite close to those facilities.

    Why we flag this

The plan shows wellness spaces and accommodation on the same deck. This is a proximity caution, not a confirmed disturbance report. Check the source plan.

Location-based guidance, not measured noise or a guarantee of quiet. Flags identify areas to investigate, not every cabin on a deck.
