Virgin Voyages has pulled Resilient Lady’s April 28, 2027 public sailing for a full-ship charter, according to Cruise Hive. The canceled trip was a four-night cruise from Miami with calls at Key West and Bimini.

For affected guests, the question is now whether to move the cruise or take a refund. A replacement voyage can preserve the price of the cabin while still changing the cost of flights, hotels or time off work. Compare the whole trip before choosing.

Cruise Hive’s report says notices went out on November 2. It does not identify the charter customer. There is no need to guess who booked the ship to explain what existing passengers should do next.

The outlet also highlighted the cancellation on X.

What the reported options include

The report describes a transfer option to Valiant Lady’s May 6, 2027 four-night sailing, which visits the same ports. It also lists eligible four- and five-night sailings in April and May, with price and promotion protection, or a full refund without a cancellation fee.

Reported onboard credit is $100 per cabin or $300 per suite. Virgin calls that credit Sailor Loot. It is a benefit to assess alongside the new itinerary, not a reason to ignore the rest of the travel bill.

Full refundRefund scope and processing details

These are the options described in the coverage. Your own notice is the controlling document for the offer attached to your reservation. Ask Virgin or your travel adviser to confirm eligibility, the response deadline and the final price before accepting a move.

The same ports do not make it the same trip

A later departure may work well for a flexible traveler. For someone with fixed leave or nonrefundable travel, it can create a larger problem. Check work schedules and companion availability before asking for a particular replacement cabin.

Also confirm the cabin category and location. A move between ships can require a new assignment. If accessibility, connecting rooms or proximity to another party matters, make those needs part of the request rather than assuming they will carry over.

Virgin’s official Resilient Lady page describes the original ship. It should not be read as a promise about which cabin will be offered on the replacement sailing.

This is separate from the Brilliant Lady charter cancellation affecting an October 2027 cruise. Travelers should use the notice for their own booking, not compensation terms attached to another ship or date.

Keep the refund decision practical

If you prefer a refund, ask which payments will be returned and how any extras booked through Virgin will be handled. Keep the cancellation notice and payment records until the money reaches the original payment method.

Do not assume that a cruise refund also repays independent flights or hotels. The report does not establish reimbursement for those costs. Check the terms of those bookings and any relevant travel coverage separately.

For a transfer, request a written summary showing the new sailing, cabin, fare, promotions and Sailor Loot. Compare it with the original confirmation before approving the change.

The useful outcome is a replacement vacation that still works for you. If the dates or total cost no longer fit, the reported refund option may be more valuable than onboard credit on a trip you would not otherwise choose.
