About Silver Explorer
Silver Explorer is a former Silversea Cruises cruise ship, which sailed 2008 to 2023. She measured 6,072 gross tons and carried 144 guests. She sailed Antarctica, South America, Northern Europe itineraries.
Silver Explorer was Silversea's first expedition ship. Built in Finland in 1989 as Delfin Clipper, she was bought by Silversea in 2007, refitted in Trieste and sailed as Prince Albert II until she was renamed in 2011. She ran polar voyages, spending northern summers in the Arctic, Svalbard, Iceland and Greenland and southern summers off South America and Antarctica, and in 2019 made Silversea's first Northwest Passage transit. Sold to Exploris in 2022, she finished her last Silversea cruise on 19 November 2023 and began sailing as Exploris One that December; after Exploris was liquidated in 2025 she was sold at auction.
