About ms Sapphire

ms Sapphire is a Tauck cruise ship of the Jewel class, in service since 2008. She carries 98 guests with a crew of 45. She sails Seine itineraries. We rate her 3.7 out of 5.

ms Sapphire is a 110-meter Jewel class riverboat built in the Netherlands in 2008 for Tauck's long-term charter from Swiss owner Scylla; she was named Swiss Sapphire, which was still painted on her hull in 2021. Rebuilt in 2017 with a new deck plan, she takes no more than 98 guests, 14 of them in 300-square-foot Tauck Suites. She has been Tauck's Seine boat, sailing round trips from Paris to Normandy, and in 2026 she shares Seine departures with the new ms Serene, including a Christmas markets cruise that she introduced in 2025. Tauck lists its 2027 Seine departures on ms Serene and the new ms Reverie, and the German cruise site cruisetricks.de reports that Viva Cruises, part of Scylla, plans to relaunch her in 2027 as Viva Unique on the Po and the Venetian lagoon.
