About A-ROSA Alea

A-ROSA Alea is an A-ROSA River Cruises cruise ship, in service since 2009. She carries 138 guests. She sails Rhine itineraries. We rate her 3.5 out of 5.

A-ROSA Alea is a 110-meter Rhine river cruise ship for up to 138 guests in 65 outside cabins and four junior suites, smaller than the ships A-ROSA had built for itself and able to use more central berths. She was built in 2009 by the Jac. den Breejen yard in Hardinxveld-Giessendam in the Netherlands and sailed for Avalon Waterways as Avalon Affinity before A-ROSA added her and her sister A-ROSA Clea to its fleet in 2024; her first A-ROSA cruise left Cologne on 5 April 2024. A refurbishment in early 2026 brought new furnishings and colors. She has a whirlpool on the sun deck, a gym, a lift, and panorama, club and outdoor lounges, but no sauna; at dinner the main course is served at the table. She sails from Cologne to the Netherlands and Belgium and south along the Rhine, and in 2027 also from Frankfurt.
